If you’re looking for a fun and unique day out with the kids, I highly recommend a trip to the West Cork Model Railway Village in Clonakilty!
Take a walk through Dromillihy Wood in Connonagh in West Cork. Find all the colourful fairy houses dotted along the path. The kids skip along so excitedly looking for the next find- and it’s even more fun when you bring little gifts (hair slides, flowers, pine cones) for them and leave at their door. (more…)

For anyone who has been to the regional park in Ballincollig….. you’re probably thinking its not exactly the most hidden of gems… most primary schools in the area go on nature walks there, local GAA and athletic clubs use the grounds for training, and it is a very popular spot for a Sunday morning stroll! However… this is why secret entrances are always better… who knew something you may walk past everyday could be such a special hidden gem!
One of my favourite beaches has got to be Inchydoney. Nestled away a few kilometres outside the beautiful town of Clonakilty in West Cork, stretching out into the wild Atlantic sea is the open spacious and sandy strand… what a perfect escape from reality! (more…)
I follow The Donkey Sanctuary on Facebook and was eager to visit and explore! Being an animal lover I was captivated by the idea that there was a sanctuary dedicated to looking after donkeys and mules. The picturesque sanctuary is nestled in the historic village of Liscarroll, just fifteen minutes’ drive from Mallow. The sanctuary is open every day and as soon as you drive in you are greeted by inquisitive donkey faces peering through railings and roaming through fields. It is a peaceful place and I was pleased to see that dogs are welcome to visit also. I instantly made a friend in Jacksie a small, cute donkey who was in the adoption group. (more…)
Choo choo choo – Santa is back and ready to see all his little QTs at the North Pole Express at Christmas Wonderland at The Farm, Grenagh, Co. Cork! The Christmas elves and fairies are working their magical powers to the last preparing Santa’s Office and log cabin, the Elves’ Workshop, Mrs Claus’ Kitchen and the live crib at Christmas Wonderland, ahead of Santa’s arrival at 5pm on Sunday, November 30th. Midterm break is approaching and the month of October has begun. This can only mean one thing – Halloween is coming and the kid’s holidays are approaching. Sometimes it can be hard to find things to occupy the kids but of course we have found a gem to keep your little ones entertaining this Halloween. Bring them along to The Farm in Grenagh, Cork and let the run about The Farm Grenagh’s Pumpkin Patch! Let them pick their pumpkin and decorate as spooky as they can imagine as the witches help them to carve out their designs(TIP: Pumpkin carving means no mess in your kitchen!!). (more…)
