Island Hopping in Croatia: Piskera

Stop number three while island hopping in Croatia with Sail Aweigh was Piskera. As you all know, we experienced many QT gems and this was one of our favourites in Croatia. I think my favourite sunset during our adventures in Croatia was in this spot.  Piskera is a small uninhabited island in the Croatian part of the Adriatic Sea, with the few houses only occupied in the summer months by fishermen. Island Hopping in Croatia: Sipnata

During our week island hopping with Sail Aweigh in Croatia, we experienced many QT gems. Places we stumbled upon sailing and places we went discovering through the maps and information books. One day, we stopped in the most amazing little gem for lunch. It was just a small alcove away from the main busy sailing area. We stopped there for a bite of lunch. All the boats were anchored up and people enjoying their lunches, sunbathing or jumping into the turquoise waters below. (more…)

Island Hopping in Croatia: Betina

Our second stop while island hopping in Croatia with Sail Aweigh was Betina. It was most definitely a town we wouldn’t forget. The charm, old style and spectacular views made it a place to remember. Betina Marina in Croatia is situated on the eastern shores of Murter, one of the biggest islands on the Dalmatian coastline. The marina was modern and well-serviced, home to a local yacht club, which had a beautiful bar/restaurant with bank, shop and chandlery. Just a short walk away lay the traditional town which takes your breath away. (more…)

Our first stop island hopping with Sail Aweigh in Croatia was Kukljica.  Kukljica is a picturesque fishing village, located on the southeast of the island of Ugljan. The spot is surrounded by dense pine forests, many sandy and rocky beaches on the shores of crystal clear sea. The port which we came into is a sheltered and protected natural bay and the perfect spot for an overnight exploration. (more…)

1000 unspolt islands and warm turquoise seas meant Croatia was most certainly on our OnTheQT bucket list. This year we were delighted to spend a week sailing and filming with Sail Aweigh in Croatia. It was a holiday of a lifetime but of course we filmed the whole experience for you guys so you will get to see how truly amazing it was. No other area in Europe possesses such unique opportunities for cruising, the breath-taking scenery of more than a thousand dazzling islands along the Croatian coast, combined with the unpolluted crystal clear sea, will satisfy even the most demanding nautical enthusiasts. Big Blue Scuba Diving

As you all know, we spent a few weeks this summer exploring the islands of Croatia. One of the islands we spent some time on was the island of Brac. We stayed in Bol which is a water sports heaven for anybody who loves to be on the water. What can we say, we fitted in well there. One afternoon we decided to try scuba diving for the first time with Big Blue Diving in Bol. (TIP: The one thing we found out before we went looking for a place to try scuba diving was to look for the PADI sign so wherever you go, be sure they are PADI qualified and Big Blue Diving in Bol are). What better place to try scuba diving then in the Adriatic Sea. (more…)
