Mountaineers of Iceland

The Blue Lagoon

I was looking forward to this day for so long. It was a dream of mine to experience the famous Blue Lagoon and I finally ticked another experience off my travel bucket list during our recent trip to Iceland. Iceland Episode 3

It was our last day in Iceland so Episode 3 sums up a great trip. In this episode, we enjoyed a few hours of relaxation in the Blue Lagoon and we chatted to Inga of Reykjavik Excursions all about their exciting tours. Sand Hotel, Reykjavík

During a recent trip to Iceland, we stayed in the centre of Reykjavík in the Sandhotel. The Sandhotel is a new boutique hotel in the heart of Reykjavík, on the high-street, Laugavegur. It is extremely central and allows you to walk down the street and be in the heart of Reykjavík to enjoy  the vibrant cultural life of Reykjavík. Everything in the city itself is within walking distance of this hotel – restaurants, museums, shops etc.  (more…)

Iceland Episode 2

In Episode 2, we went on the Pearl tour with Mountaineers of Iceland. It honestly was the highlight of our trip. It was everything you think of when you think of Iceland. The Pearl Tour is an Iceland adventure where you will experience some of Iceland’s most famous and exciting natural phenomena by exploring the Golden Circle, topped off with an unforgettable snowmobile tour on Langjökull glacier. On the Golden Circle, you get to explore is Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the active Geysir Hot Spring area with its boiling mud pits and spouting hot springs and Gullfoss Waterfall(one of Iceland’s most powerful waterfalls). The highlight of the trip for us was going on a snow mobile on Langjökull Glacier and dashing across snowfields on snowmobiles while gazing at the mountain peaks. It wasn’t just the highlight of our Iceland trip but our travel highlight of the year.  Check out our experience in the vlog above. (more…)
