As many of you know from our Instagram stories, last night we attended the launch of a new daily service between Cork and Paris with Air France and Cork Airport. The first official flight, which was greeted by a water cannon salute upon arrival from Paris-Charles de Gaulle, received a festive welcome at Cork Airport, with the aircraft flying Irish and French colours as it taxied to the arrival gate. The route was initially announced in February as a seasonal service, but due to positive forward bookings the route has been extended to a year-round service.
What really struck me last night was how this new route opened up connectivity to destinations all over the world. Places I would never have thought of to book via Paris. You can book onwards to Seattle(USA), Fortaleza(Brazil), Nairobi(East Africa), Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai(India), Mahe Island(Seychelles) and many more. Now I have just added lots more destinations to my never-ending travel bucket list. Irish passengers now have the opportunity to connect to Air France’s extensive network of over 180 destinations worldwide via their hub at Paris-Charles de Gaulle. The daily flight is operated by Air France Hop! using Embraer 170 aircraft, carries up to 76 passengers.
Last night, it also was clear that Air France has high standards and a caring attitude and its goal is to turn your flight into a moment of real pleasure on all its daily operations in France, Europe and worldwide. Air France currently operates from two Irish airports, offering 4 daily flights between Dublin and Paris and now one daily flight between Cork and Paris served by Air France subsidiary Hop!
Barry ter Voert, SVP Sales Europe Air France KLM and Benedicte Duval, General Manager Air France KLM UK & Ireland were on board, alongside French media and VIPs.
