This week on Red Travel we went up the country to County Meath. We checked out Tayto Park and tried as many activities as possible. Tayto Park is a theme park and zoo in Meath which offers 100s of attractions. We got on the road at 7am and made our way to Tayto Park. Tayto Park is approximately a 3 hour drive from Cork… 30 minutes from Dublin. Not too far to head for a day of adventure!! All I can say is WOW!! What a day!! I never imagined the theme park to be full with so many attractions… not only roallarcoasters but something for every age with the zoo and their newly opened world of raptures. There are lots of hotels around to stay in but we decided to do something a little different so it’s time to head to our home for the night at Rock Farm Slane. Glamping has become very popular the past few years and can you believe I have never tried it!! So I am about to try it for the first time at Rock Farm Slane. A Boutique camping experience located on the River Boyne. Prices per night are approximately €55pp. It’s the perfect location to follow on from a fun day at Tayto Park.
In the second half of the show, we are brought you across the water to US of A. We filled you in on our American Top Tips. We got all the information from Kevin in Cork airport about the new Cork – Boston/Providence flights. I also filled you in on my favourite place in the world – Cape Cod.
Coming up next week.. We’re heading to the beautiful town of Cobh – just 25 minutes by car or train from Cork City. We are starting the day by going on a tour of the historic tour with Cobh Road Train. We are then getting the ferry to Spike Island… It has been on my summer bucket list to go explore the island and take a tour to learn all the history of the people and places that make Spike Island so special.We are then hitting the water with Andrew of Ocean Escapes who is going to take us on a sea safari trip in Cork Harbour. We cannot wait to see what new friends we make on the trip!! In the second half of the show, we head on a road trip in the US or A. We are going to be driving from Napa Valley to San Francisco!!
