Happy Friday

It’s Friday! Where did the week go?! Time for some weekend adventures… right?! Another weekend full of adventure lies ahead! It’s important to take time to switch off at the weekend, make plans to catch up with an old friend, do something you love to do, and most of all have fun!

We had a very busy week of blogging, exploring, filming and travelling. We are also working on a new look for OnTheQT to allow you to explore all the places we have paid a visit to around the world. We cannot wait to share our new style with you and it is going to launch in the next few weeks. The countdown is on! It should be live within two weeks. We also shared with your our top tips on how to save money when booking your next adventure. It means you can put what you save towards even more adventures! Check out our top tips here. We are also busy working on our vlog OnTheQT Travel Tube and something very exciting launching here soon.

We love reading all about your adventures. This week Fiona shared her experience in Wynwood, Miami. What an adventure. Check out her experience here.

I also kept up my reformer pilates this week with ElitePilates.ieAs many of you know, I decided to start reformer Pilates last week. I love trying something new and I always think being as active as you can is great for the body and especially the mind. Many of you know I already do bootcamp twice a week and mat pilates but for 2017 I wanted to take up something new to challenge myself even more. So I decided to do reformer Pilates with Elite Pilates – I am now just after class number 4 and loving it. The classes are very rewarding and the instructors are extremely encouraging and helpful. Every time I do a class, I feel myself getting stronger and progressing bit by bit. Looking forward to my next class already.Follow the updates live on our snapchat(username: ontheqtie) and we will be posting a few blogs also on our experience and our journey.

Now it’s Friday so it’s time for some travel  tips and some info on great thing happening in Ireland this weekend.. Below are a few places that I love to visit at the weekend.

  • This weekend is a celebration in Cork of all the independently owned cafés around the city which makes up Cork city’s vibrant coffee world. There will be live events – roaster talks, barista showdowns, DJs, brewing sessions, tastings and much more. All free of charge and sounds like the perfect way to spend a weekend!! Some of our favourite coffee shops in Cork include Idaho Cafe, Cork Coffee Roasters, Three Fools, Ali’s Kitchen and many more.

  • I never say no to a road trip! It is the best way to discover new places. Check out some of our favourite roadtrips around Ireland here and pick one that you love.
  • We also love a trip to the beach at the weekend! Some of our favourite beaches around the country are; Whiterocks Beach, Antrim,  Ardnahinch Beach, Co. Cork and Barley Cove in West Cork.
  • Nothing beats an outdoor adventure. One of my favourite weekend adventures is to head out for a cycle at the stunning National Park in Killarney. Check it out here.
  • I love to make the most of the weekend and get up early on a Saturday morning. One of my favourite things is to load up the bikes and go on a bike trail in Ballyhoura in Limerick with Trailriders. Check out our recent video – now you see and feel the adventure before you go!
  • The Donkey Sanctuary is always a good idea. It is located in a picturesque sanctuary is nestled in the historic village of Liscarroll, just 15 minutes drive from Mallow. The sanctuary is open every day and as soon as you drive in you are greeted by inquisitive donkey faces peering through railings and roaming through fields. Check out our blog post here.
  • If you follow OnTheQT, you will know I am a water baby and I love Stand up paddle boarding. One of my favourite places to try this is Neptune Kayak in Rostellan in Cork. Check out our QT blog post on our experience here.

I most certainly will be checking many of my favourite coffee shops in Cork this weekend to celebrate the independent coffee shops. We are also off to Cork on Ice this weekend so be sure to follow our effortless falls on snapchat on Sunday!! (Username: ontheqtie) – I might even get a hike in over the weekend…hopefully!!

Make the most of your weekend and have lots of fun!! Happy Travels!
